The Importance of Being Alice

Once upon a time quite long ago, not so long ago that I don't remember but long enough ago that the details are fuzzy & I am forced to fill in the blanks with wild imaginings....any way....I was stationed in Naples Italy with the United States Navy, my friend and I did not want to be rude when speaking to the transient folks who passed thru Capodichino but we also did not want to encourage any further conversation either - so we came up with pseudonyms - I was Alice & she was Sally. We also had quite lovely backstories - but that would be another post. Moving in time and space to Japan (late 80's), my husband brings home the latest Moody Blues Album, which I loved, especially the song titled "In Your Wild Alice Dreams". Are you seeing where this is going?? Any solid Moody Blues fan can tell you there is no such song, I don't really hear very well & totally thought that they were singing "In your Wild Alice Dreams" not "In Your Wildest Dreams". It all seemed quite reasonable to me but my husband to this day still thinks it is hilarious. Think about it - Knights in White Satin Never meaning to end.....play on words - not much of a stretch really......Recently I got to wondering about Alice & where she was & what she was doing. So here is Alice's story, a quite extraordinary life.
