Wild Alice is a Mid-Century Modern Mom who likes to recycle, up-cycle & re-purpose. Her children tell folks she is an Urban Archeologist or someone who likes to muck about in other peoples trash. In reality she is an administrative assistant at a large, very nice company. She works with really nice people and is very good at her job. Unfortunately it is a job & not her passion. Her passion has mostly been floating around in her head until recently when it started to leak out......so here is her story and the stories of the dolls that need to be real.

Wild Alice Dreams Again

Paperclay faces
WIP Sheep, crow & bunny
I started this blog last year as a way to document the funny things that have happened to me & well stuff happened.  my intentions were good but......Any way a friend at work suggested I sell my stuff on etsy so now I am.  It's been a really great experience & I highly recommend it!!  You can check out the stuff in my shop thru the etsy link on the right. I'll still post stories but mostly I would like to share the stuff I like to make in hopes that you will be inspired to create your own stuff!!  I use recycled & repurposed  materials that I find in common & uncommon places. The WIP above hopefully will be posted in the shop soon.  The pale fabric I am using for the sheep & bunny is a really soft linen that used to be a ladies jacket. The first sheep I made with a ton of French knots & it took forever to finish.  The more recent sheep have sweet curvy lines of embroidery that suggest curly fleece and they are much easier on my fingers!! The black fabric is left over from a quilt I made years ago.  The flower pin is enameled in very Mod colors.  I got it at a thrift store at the Outer Banks in North Carolina and I am not sure how it will work with the face at the top - maybe she will be a Mother Nature of sorts although I think the face has a strong resemblence to Owen Wilson. I was watching the Life Aquatic when I made the face......
Anyway thanks for stopping by & remember to enjoy your day!
